MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 10(ish) - Have a...
Season 5. Joel was at his best and Mike was great from the start, and I feel that there isn’t a single bad episode in the batch.

MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 8(ish) - Cinematic...
Cinematic Titanic. I’ve seen more of their material (it’s easier to check them out since they’ve done so much less) and it feels more like MST3K. And besides my preference for Joel over Mike, they’ve also got Trace (his Crow is my favorite of all those who went into the “theater”) and Frank (who played my favorite character overall). Mary Jo and Josh are really...

MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 6 - Least favorite...
410 - Hercules Against the Moon Men. The hatred most fans seem to have for Hamlet (from Season 10) is about equal to mine for this episode. There are hardly any laughs to be found here. Repetitive riffs (“Pizza, pizza”), astoundingly lazy writing, forced moments (I’m sorry, but the sandstorm is nowhere near as painful as they make it out to be*) make this an absolutely terrible...

MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 4 - Favorite episode?
509 - The Girl in Lovers Lane. A decent, but still cheesy movie with fantastic riffing makes this an absolute winner in my eyes. I find myself laughing almost non-stop throughout the entire episode. Crow’s “Tryin’ to look at nobody but I’m lookin’ at everybody!“ riff is probably my favorite in the entire series. It doesn’t make much sense out of context,...

MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 3 - How did you get...
I’m sure that I had been aware of it for years. I don’t know where exactly I first heard about it, but I must have seen numerous references to it on the internet over time. I recall trying to watch “‘MANOS’ The Hands of Fate” a few times on Youtube or Google Video or something and never getting past the driving sequence at the beginning (it seems so short and...

MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 2 - Joel or Mike? Why?
Joel. It’s a close call actually because I feel that Mike is better in the theater, but some of his mannerisms during the Sci-Fi era kind of bug me. Joel had his ups and downs both in and out of the theater and I feel that evens him out more. Plus his more laid back and sleepy persona appeals more to me.

MST3K 30 Day Challenge: Day 1 - First episode?
107 - Robot Monster. It didn’t leave too much of an impression on me. Makes sense in retrospect seeing how it’s from Season 1. I only checked it out because of the movie itself and it’s status as a “classic” B-movie. I wanted to check out “The Incredibly Strange Creatures…” right around the same time but it took months until I got around to it. In...
